... Indeed? And this isn't in any way a variation of wherever this man claimed to be from when you talked to him before here?

[Jetfire sits down, crossing his arms as he talks... and for the first time since his wings angled down while talking to Starscream, they start to slip up closer to the usual diagonally upright position.]

Because unless the variation's close enough they can be connected, the odds for at least some parts of their... explanation... being a lie would possibly increase by a few percent, at least.
