002 - [open commentlog] Educate the giant robot or watch him go flying?
[There had been a few distractions, but it was time to find out how restricted the airspace was, if it was. So here is Jetfire, standing on the edge of the Green closest towards the Barracks and staring at the sky, helm tilted back, arms crossed. Before he goes, though...]
//Starscream, want to come flying? I talked with someone earlier who indicated the sky isn't what it seems.//
[The comm sent and over with, Jetfire concentrates back on the sky again. It looks normal. It ought to be normal. But apparently it isn't.
Go stare at the jet, before or after he comes down?]
((ooc: Backdated to recently after his arrival, since I am slow...))

She doesn't hide the fact that she's impressed on her expression, though it is somewhat toned down. Showing awe is hardly going to keep Starscream's ego at a reasonable level for what, as far as she can tell, is a simple transfer of information.]
No, I doubt he mentioned mine either. Nice to meet you, Jetfire. Name's Iriel.
no subject
[He just folds his arms across his chest ]
Just let me know when the pleasantries are over before I make myself gag.
no subject
I assume some of what went on earlier was because of this? [A nod down to the markings.] Starscream is being rather unclear why it's such a horrible location.
[Because frankly? Besides the fact that human aesthetics really didn't have much to do with them he couldn't see the problem.]
no subject
Two sentences and alread you're fidgety because we're not focusing on you?
[Amused, she remembered she'd taking an arrow out of the quiver at her back and carefully slid it back into place before answering Jetfire.]
And yeah, Jetfire, it was. Y'see, the way you've got that mark on you, and the location, resembles a garter. Garters are typically something human women slide up their legs when they wanna look sexy and get their partner turned on.
[She pauses a beat, then clarifies.]
It's a sex thing.
[Do robots have sex? Or do they just...build each other? If that's the case, where did the first come from? It was like that conundrum of what came first, the Chicken or the Egg.]
no subject
But he smirks shortly after and totally looks back st Iriel.]
... He probably doesn't know what that is. You should explain that to him.
[Yesss make things awkward for Jetfire, go!]
no subject
I am perfectly capable of drawing a conclusion of what "sex" is, Starscream, even if I would never have met another organic being who reproduced sexually before. Especially since you just gave me the language file and "interface" and "sex" matches up and are translated to the other word, no matter if the meaning is slightly different.
[Jetfire frowns, crossing his arms, before he tilts his head to get a look at the markings again and just vents softly.]
I suppose it's in a slightly awkward place, but I'm hardly a human female... other than that, I see no problem, if it's seen as something that's attractive?
no subject
Well, it's your call. It's still one of those behind-closed-doors things. People don't wear them in public and show 'em off unless they're brides or strippers.
[She pauses a beat.]
What's interfacing?
no subject
[This was just too good.]
While you do it you can explain to her, in what I'm sure will be a overly boring scientific way, what interfacing is.
no subject
[And he was hardly going to dance. Especially not since what he was thinking of - which probably wasn't what Starscream was referencing, and if it was... - was aerial such. And that wasn't really for grounders. But what did 'strippers' have to do with 'dancing' anyway?]
As for what interface is... [Jetfire shook his helm, giving Starscream another narrow stare for having shunted it off on hm. He didn't really mind explaining it, but Starscream could have explained it just as well. Though he may have added in inaccuracies just because he thought it'd be amusing.]
We don't reproduce sexually, so while interface is like sex in that it's an intimate act involving pleasurable stimuli, it won't end in... er, children? [there were quite a few words for 'offspring' and he wasn't sure, exactly, which word fit to what age-group of a growing human.] So its point is simply the sensory stimuli, usually leading to overload through excess energy and electrical charge built up, along with the intimacy and bonding.
[Jetfire frowned as he finished, and then looked at Starscream, because no matter what, he probably surely thought he had something to add. If only to mock or dispute that the intimacy was part of the point.]
no subject
...so, basically interfacing is robot sex when two or more robots plug in to each other and charge each other up or something?
[Trust her to take an in depth, scientific explanation and reduce it to that.]
no subject
He's been playing with the Autobots too long, don't listen to him.
[A smirk when he glances back to Iriel though.]
It's about knocking the other person offline. You do that and you know you're good.
no subject
It's not a contest. I'd suggest not taking Starscream quite as literally as he'd want you to. Since just flooding the connection and sensory net with enough stimuli and to create enough excess energy and charge to overload your partner... or partners, into going offline doesn't necessarily mean you're good.
Merely that you can strong-arm the connection. [Jetfire is totally unimpressed by Starscream's statement.]
no subject
[This is said, surprisingly, without judgment. Still, she grins and shakes her head a bit. Robot sex. Wait until Fiel hears about this...
...and then she was reminded that Fiel wasn't there. That her friend, and the rest of her world supposedly winked out of existence. She drew herself up and sighed.]
As fascinating as this all is, I was headed somewhere. I'll leave you two to your fun and interfacing games, hm?
[She offered a wave, and a wink, and continued on her way.]
no subject
You're such the charmer, Jetfire. Why don't you give her diagrams next time? I'm sure she'd be fascinated.
no subject
If you feel it lacking, you could always follow her, but that'd be rather rude. And it wasn't I who just picked her up while she was going about her own business. Of course she'd need to leave.
[Though he might have done the same... except he would totally have apologized for stealing time and not just snatched her up.]
Well, with that over... [He sighs and glanced up at the sunless sky.] Shall we get on with that flight I asked if you wanted to come with on?
no subject
Yeah, yeah. Lets go before you do anything else stupid.
no subject
Very gracious of you. Well... [Engaging flight systems and his afterburners, Jetfire took a slight leap into the air and hovered there.]
Let's see how big this cage is then. And whether there's anything to stop us from going up.
[And if there was anything to tell why there was no visible sun. That thing irked the most, but that might just be some sort of forcefield... Jetfire, nonetheless, waited for Starscream to take to the air with him before shooting off to explore their limited airspace.]
